The Cleveland Museum of Art is renowned for the quality and breadth of its collection, which includes more than 40,000 objects and spans 6,000 years of achievement in the arts. Currently undergoing a multi-phase renovation and expansion project, it is a significant international forum for exhibitions, scholarship, performing arts, and art education. The mission of the Cleveland Museum of Art is to fulfill its dual roles as one of the world's most distinguished comprehensive art museums and as one of Northeast Ohio's principal civic and cultural institutions. Admission to the museum has been free since its founding charter. Collections on View As part of our transformational expansion and renovation project currently underway, we have more than 40 galleries open. 13th century through 16th century Europe, Western Medieval, Art of the Americas, Islamic, Textiles, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Indian and Southeast Asian Art will not be on view until the end of the building project.
